We use our own Davis Vantage Pro 2 Precision Weather Station - based at Adventure Island - to calculate the forecast.

The Weather Station has a series of sophisticated sensors that are located on the roof of the Southend Radio 105.1 building on the seafront.

These solar powered sensors measure a whole range of essential weather indicators, such as temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed and direction, solar radiation and UV.

A wireless link relays updated information back to the Weather Station in Adventure Island every 2 ½ seconds, where it is fed directly in to a computer running WeatherLink software.

This state of the art computer programme crunches all the data to produce our weather forecast - ensuring what you see on this site is 100% correct.
